Our Mug Travelled to the Zero Project Accessibility Conference

Sekond Skin, an inclusive fitness platform, brought our mug to Vienna. Now we’re collaborating to support accessible routines

Last month, our friends at Sekond Skin Society, an inclusive fitness platform built around the belief that movement should be accessible to all bodies, travelled to Vienna for the Zero Project Conference 2026, an invite-only global gathering focused on advancing disability inclusion through action. With over 1,600 participants from around the world, the conference brings together leaders across policy, healthcare, and design to share what is actually working.

As part of the conference programming, founder Lee-Anne Reuber led a “Mindful Moment” session: a seated yoga sequence designed to expand what participation can look like. Participants could engage using their gaze, their chin, their torso, or their full upper body, depending on what felt available to them.

By building multiple entry points into the experience, the session removed the need for people to adapt themselves to the movement. Instead of focusing on an “ideal” way to perform the exercises, the instructions normalized movement in whatever way felt accessible to each person in the room. The response was immediate. The session was invited back to the main stage later in the conference, and participants shared how meaningful it was to take part in something that included them from the start.

What stood out most from Vienna was not just the scale of the event, but the clarity of direction. Accessibility is moving away from one-size-fits-all solutions and toward flexible systems that support a wider range of people from the beginning. That same shift applies far beyond movement. It applies to the spaces we live in and the objects we use every day.

At Capella, this is how we approach design. The goal is not to make products to tick an “accessibility box”, but to design them so more people can actually use and enjoy them in their spaces. Sekond Skin is doing this with movement. We are doing this at home. Both approaches are grounded in the same idea: people should not feel like participation requires accommodation. Good design makes that possible from the start.

When Lee-Anne travelled to Vienna, she brought the Holm Stability Mug with her. While it looks and functions like a regular mug, it quietly provides additional support, making it easier to use for everyone. The handle supports a more secure grip, the base adds stability, and the form feels familiar enough to fit naturally into everyday settings. There is no learning curve. It simply works better for more people.

Like Sekond Skin’s movement sequences, it does not ask the user to adapt. It is designed to adapt to them.

Conferences like the Zero Project are where ideas take shape, but their impact depends on how they translate into daily life. Movement is one part of that. So is how you start your morning, move through your home, and use the objects that support you throughout the day.

To extend that connection, we have partnered with Sekond Skin to offer the Holm Stability Mug as a giveaway for new users joining their platform. It is a simple way to bring the same thinking into your own routine.

You do not need to redesign everything to make your life more accessible. Start with one routine. Look at how you move, how you rest, or how you use the objects around you every day. Small improvements in those moments can have a meaningful impact over time.

Because accessibility is not a separate layer. It is how good design works.
