A Win for Selora is a Win for Accessible Design
Selora recognized as a WL Design '25 Winner

Selora: Best of '25 Design Winner
We have exciting news to share: our Selora Grab Bar Frame has been named a Design 25 winner by Western Living Magazine. This is Capella Design's second design of the year recognition, and we love what it means for accessible design.
This recognition isn’t just about a single product—it’s a shift in how the design world views accessibility. For too long, mobility products have been treated as purely functional, designed for hospitals and care facilities rather than the homes people love. Capella Design is leading a change.
Winning this award is proof that accessibility belongs in modern, well-designed spaces. It’s a validation of something we’ve believed from the start: home support products shouldn’t just be necessary—they should be something people are proud to bring into their homes.
Why Awards Matter

Most people understand the importance of safety in the home, but many hesitate to install traditional grab bars because they look clinical. This hesitation isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about identity. Our homes reflect who we are, and no one wants their space to feel like a hospital.
That’s why we designed Selora to fit seamlessly into a thoughtfully designed home. When a product looks and feels intentional, people are more likely to use it. And when great design meets functional support, accessibility becomes a choice—not a compromise.
Winning a Western Living award underscores that accessibility isn’t a niche - it's somethign everyone should be thining about. It’s part of good design. It’s part of creating homes that work and look beautiful to everyone.
What Makes Selora Different?

Selora is a grab bar, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking. It’s designed to blend into your space—not stand out.
A few of the features that set it apart:
It doesn’t look like a grab bar.
Selora is designed to complement your home, with a discreet overmounting frame that can hold a picture or mirror, making it feel like part of your décor.
Strong, reliable support.
With a single-stud mounting system and a weight capacity of 250 lbs, Selora provides stability without taking up space.
Easy to install.
Unlike traditional grab bars that require multiple anchor points, Selora mounts quickly and securely, making it an effortless addition to any home.
Designed for real life.
Place it near a stairway for extra confidence, by an entryway to steady yourself while putting on shoes, or anywhere you want a little extra support without compromising style.
A Step Towards Change

When a product like Selora wins a design award, it signals more than just recognition for Capella. It’s a sign that the conversation around accessibility is evolving.
No longer an afterthought, accessible design is being seen for what it truly is—essential, intentional, and integral to a well-designed home. We’re honored to be part of that shift.
